Poachers could face Spalding again

Tulips or Peterborough Northern Star to host Boston in league cup

The Poachers are on course for yet another trip to Spalding United in the United Counties League Cup.

After beating Burton Park Wanderers on Saturday, their 2nd round opponents will be either Spalding or Peterborough Northern Star, who are due to play their 1st round tie on 10 December.

It was Town's humiliating 12-0 defeat to Spalding in October which led to the departure of Matt Hocking and Ian Dunn.

Boston have also lost to the Tulips 3-0 at home in the league and 3-0 away in the Lincs Senior Trophy this season so a trip to the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field would be an ideal opportunity for Nathan Collins' new-look side to regain some pride.

If the Poachers were to get through, they would have a home tie in the quarter-finals against one of two Division One side  - Potton or Woodford.

* Spalding have been thrown out of the FA VAse for fielding ineligible player Garfield Robinson in their 3-0 victory at Walsall Wood in the last round. The FA says Robinson was under suspension under an assumed name with the Northamptonshire FA.
