Willo`s remarkable record

Full back's run of 78 consecutive appearances comes to an end

There was a startling omission from Boston Town's teamsheet on Saturday.

Luke Wilson was suspended for the 1-0 defeat by AFC Rushden & Diamonds - bringing to an end a remarkable run of 78 consecutive appearances for the Poachers.

Indeed it was the first time he has ever missed a league game since arriving at Tattershall Road from Pinchbeck United in the summer of 2012.

Willo was absent for the opening game of the 2012-13 season - an FA Cup tie against Quorn - but hasn't missed a single fixture since.

Indeed, the young full back started every game of last season and until the weekend had been in the starting line-up for all but two of Boston Town's matches this season, coming on twice as substitute.

At the turn of the year, the former Boston United youth team player was one of only 12 United COunties League Premier Division players to have boast ever present appearance records in league and league cup football for their respective clubs.

The other 11 include two ex-Poachers - James Doughty (now Deeping) and Adam Jackson (now Spalding).
