Brendan nears the 1,000 mark

Ex-Boston player approaches remarkable landmark

Former Poachers midfielder Brendan McDaid is on the verge of an incredible milestone.

The 40something veteran has just made his 650th appearance for Evo-Stik Division One South side Lincoln United.

And he is now close to reaching the 1,000 career appearances in total.

McDaid, who has also played for Lincoln Moorlands and Grantham Town, was a Boston FC regular in their early United Counties League days.

He was an almost ever-present in 1992-93, playing alongside the likes of Nigel Vince, Derrick Nuttell, Chris Cook, Jason Vaughan.

* Town's league visit to Thurnby Nirvana on Saturday 22 November has been postponed as the Leicestershire side are playing in the FA VAse that day. Instead, the Poachers will travel to Newport Pagnell - just a week after their scheduled home league against them!
