Desborough 4, Boston Town 3

Poachers' run of victories is over

Boston Town's winning sequence came to an end in a seven-goal thriller.

Alex Beck had put the visitors ahead after quarter of an hour but two quickfire goals sent Desborough in 2-1 up at the interval.

The hosts then scored a third early in the second half before Jack Wightwick - Boston's very own version of Jamie Vardy - netted for the fifth game in a row.

But just as the Poachers dragged themselves level through Beck's second seven minutes from time, they were foiled by a late free-kick which gave Desborough all three points.

Mark Angel's men had previously won all four of their games in November.

The Poachers will now focus on make making further progress over the next week in the Lincs Senior Trophy and the UCL Knockout Cup - and they have every chance if Beck and Wightwick can keep up their sensational goalscoring form. They've now scored nine goals between in the last five games.
