Poachers win eight-goal thriller

Boston Town 5, Burton Park W 3

The Poachers gained a morale-boosting league cup win over lower-ranked opponents.

But it was a ding-dong affair with Division One side Burton Park Wanderers equalising THREE times.

Josh Ford gave Town a perfect start after just three minutes but the visitors levelled 15 minutes later.

Lori Borbely restored the advantage after 24 minutes before Burton Park made it 2-2 a minute later.

The final goal of the first half was Ford's second - his 12th of the season - after 33 minutes.

But Wanderers would not lie down and pulled it back to 3-3 after 70 minutes.

Boston's superiority told in the closing stages, though, as Borbely doubled his tally after 76 minutes and Matt Kennedy made it 5-3 ten mintues from the end.

Daryl Clare made his debut while new signing Lee Croft also made his first appearance as a sub.

Town: Drury, Lambley, Jackson, Wilson, Smith (Jones), Iley,  Borbely, Nuttell, Ford (Hobson), Clare (Croft), Kennedy.
