Poachers shock Holbeach in FA Cup

Holbeach 2, Boston Town 4

Boston Town halted the Holbeach juggernaut in its tracks as they snatched a dramatic FA Cup victory over the UCL leaders.

Until this game, the Tigers had won five on the bounce this season, scoring a remarkable 20 goals and conceding just three - and at half-time, a shock looked unlikely as the home side led 1-0.

But Boston boss Nathan Collins made a brave triple substitution at the interval, bringing on Aaron Eyett, Tom Charleworth and Callum Walker - and that kickstarted a stunning revival.

Alex Beck fired the Poachers level and the match really turned in the visitors' favour when ex-Boston keeper Nick Conroy was red carded for fouling Beck and another former Poacher Ollie Pinner went between the sticks.

Matt Kennedy converted the spot-kick but Holbeach hit back immediately afterwards to make it 2-2.

However, the ten men could not hang on and further goals from Walker and Lori Borbely sealed Boston's victory.

In the next round, they face an even stiffer task away at Evostik Premier League side King's Lynn on Saturday 13 September.

Town: Zand, Wilson, Lambley, Lowe, Mitchell, Zuerner, Borbely, Nuttell, Kennedy, Beck, Barrett, subs used: Eyett, Charlesworth, Walker
