Poachers lose goal feast

Boston Town were involved in an eight-goal thriller for the second time in four days.

This latest defeat leaves Dan Barrett's side urgently needing to pick up points in their double-header against struggling Northampton Sileby Rangers to move towards mid-table.

It started so well for the home side as new signing Ricky Belding and top scorer Matt Kennedy scored in the first 14 minutes.

Then Town suffered had another one of those spells which are proving so costly this season, conceding three times in the pace of 12 minutes to trail 3-2 at the break.

Belding pulled it back to 3-3 midway through the second half. But it was Eynesbury - rated last week by leaders Holbech as the best team they'd played this season - who finished the stronger and took the points.

Yet again there were positives to be taken from defeat. The Poachers have now scored nine times in their last three games - but they must find a way to stop shipping goals at the other end.

Barrett also brought in three more new faces to freshen up the side - Simon Ashton's brother Harry - a former Grimsby Town youth keeper - returned in goal while there were debuts for Callum Madigan and Renzie Lobenham.

Town: H Ashton, Lowe, Warren, Woods (Playford), S Ashton, Jackson, Wightwick (Madigan [Beck]), Mitchell, Belding, Lobenham, Kennedy.
