Poachers edged out by high-flying Yaxley

Boston Town 2, Yaxley 3

A late penalty ended the Poachers' unbeaten run.

Nick Jackson was taken to hospital after suffering concussion and an injured jaw in the collision which led to the award of the winning spot-kick.

Yaxley had dominated the first half and were deservedly 2-0 up at the break.

However, boss Dan Barrett's half-time roasting for the his players did the trick and the second period saw Boston mount a spirited comeback.

Jack Wightwick netted a fine goal to give Town hope - and when Tim Lowe smashed home a penalty after Craig Mitchell was tripped, the home side looked the more likely winners.

The livewire Wightwick had a great double chance to put Town ahead but it was the visitors who had the final say.

Town: R Drury, Lowe, Jackson (Beck), Mitchell, Wood, S Ashton, Cross (Playford), Charlesworth, Lambley, Lobendhan (Borbely), Wighwick
