Poachers win local bragging rights

Deeping 1, Boston Town 2

Jack Wightwick was the man of the moment once more as the Poachers earned a deserved victory over their Lincolnshire rivals.

This second win inside four days brought Town's points tally to 33 - just one behind the target set for them this season by boss Dan Barrett.

Deeping suffered a setback when Carter was red carded for bringing down Aaron Eyett after 29 minutes.

Wightwick's penalty was saved by Bircham but he slotted home the rebound.

The youngster doubled his tally eight mintues into the second period - his eight goal in nine games since the end of November.

A late Goldson-Williams goal gave Deeping a  sniff of getting back into it but Boston hung on for their third victory of 2015.

In his first stint as manager, Barrett has challenged his squad to better last season's final tally of 34 points - with 16 games left, the Poachers have already amassed a healthy 33 and are a decent position to compete for at least a top half finish.

Town: Doughty, Lowe, Jackson, Mitchell, Wood, S Ashton, Playford, Cross, Borbely, Wightwick, Eyett; subs: Petronzio, Barrett, Higton, Clancy
