Debutant Ryan inspires a dream start for caretaker boss

Boston Town 5, Desborough 1

Lori Borbely enjoyed a perfect start to his latest reign as Boston Town boss as they hammered Ar Tarn.

The three points owed much to new signing Ryan Oliver, who helped himself to a first half hat-trick on his debut.

The new arrival from Spalding opened the scoring after quarter of an hour before Desborough levelled.

However, Oliver notched two more before the break and the Poachers cruised to victory with further goals after the interval by Tim Lowe and in-form Aaron Eyett.

It was the first hat-trick by any Boston Town player since Liam Nimmo scored three in a 6-0 FA Vase win over Downham in September 2013. The last league hat-trick was by Josh Ford in a 5-4 win at Irchester in April 2013.

This thumping victory, which saw Borbely's side climb above Newport Pagnell into11th place in the United Counties League table, was even more impressive given that they were down to 10 men for the vast majority of the game.

Shane Clancy was shown a straight red card just five minutes after kick-off.
