Poachers slip closer to relegation battle

Yaxley 3, Boston Town 1

Boston Town were again on the wrong end of a game-changing refereeing decision as they slipped to another away defeat.

Having been denied victory at the weekend by a disputed late penalty, they found themselves undone once more by a spot-kick.

Their weakened line-up had shown plenty of spirit, with the returning Lori Borbely giving them an early lead, athough that was soon cancelled out.

Midway through the second half, the game turned when the hosts were given a penalty and keeper James Doughty was sent off - despite protests that there should have been an offside flag.

Richard Ford took over between the sticks but Yaxley went on to seal the game with a third. Boston are now just seven points clear of second-from-bottom Northampton Sileby Rangers after they won at Rothwell Corinthians.
