Pilgrims earn bragging rights in pre-season game

Boston Town 0, Boston United 4

A new-look Boston Town side put up a spirited display against their higher grade rivals in their first pre-season friendly.

Former Stockport County striker Lamin Colley and St Kitts and Nevis international Jason St Juste scored in the first half to give the visitors a 2-0 interval lead at the DWB Stadium.

Ex-Torquay hitman Malachi Lavelle-Moore then scored twice inside a minute just after the hour mark to wrap up the victory.

New defender Josh Sunter impressed in his first outing in Boston Town colours while Loz Lambley and Simon Ashton were as committed as ever in the back line.

Strikers Danny Trott and Sam O’Malley gave United's defenders plenty of headaches and both keepers James Lambley and Jack Pearson pulled off fine saves.

The Poachers next take on a Walkington side featuring Dean Windass at the DWB Stadium at 3pm on Saturday 9 July.
