Poachers start 2017 with another frustrating defeat

Boston Town 1, ON Chenecks 2

A late Jordan Nuttell goal wasn't enough to salvage anything from Boston Town's first game of 2017.

The New Year started exactly as the old one had ended, with a third consecutive 2-1 defeat.

Gray Frost's side will again be hugely frustrated to end up empty-handed from this game.

Their only consolation is that Huntingdon, Harrowby and Kirby Muxloe all lost as well, leaving the situation unchanged in the bottom four.

It was only Nuttell's second goal of an injury-hit season but fans will be hoping he can now kick on and reproduce the sort of form that saw him score 17 goals last season.

Following a goalless first half, Chenecks took the lead after the break from the penalty spot and doubled their advantage before Nuttell's late strike.

And the Poachers thought they'd snatched a dramatic point in the dying seconds as Lori Borbely appeared to be flattened in a goalmouth scramble, only for penalty appeals to be waved away, Then Bailey Forth's follow-up shot seemed to cross the line but no goal was given,
