The Poachers split-personality surfaced again in this victory over basement side Irchester. Having led 3-0 they had to come from behind to gain a win.

Town breezed into a three goal advantage within seven minutes, with Lorand Borbely claiming the last touch on Josh Ford's goalbound effort in the second minute - though Ford wuld laer be credited with the goal.

Ford would add a second and third for Town on 4 and 7 minutes. With the home side reeling Dunn and Heward spurned further chances.

On 23 minutes Irchester were given a lifeline when the eagle-eyed assistant spotted an infringement that had been missed by everyone and United converted from the spot.

The second half saw Town lose their way and forget the basics. Irchester took heart and pulled a goal back as The Poachers failed to clear their lines. A mistake by Ashton gifted the home side an equalizer and the unthinkable was on when further poor defending saw United  take the lead. They were now dominating the game and sniffing only their second win of the campaign.

But the game woud ultimatey finish in accordance with the respective league positions of the teams as, first Dunn's header and Ford's penalty following Borbely's upending in the area, gave Town all three points.

Town: Ashton, West, Heward, Pinner, Wood, Wilson, Clancy, Maltby, Dunn, Ford, Borbely Subs: Hocking, Daubney, Stocks.
