Poachers edged out in local derby

Boston Town 0, Holbeach Utd 2

The Poachers shot themselves in the foot as they ended up with only nine men in this ill-tempered deby.

Nathan Collins' bid for his first points as manager was derailed as Ollie Pinner was sent off for a second yellow card - with sub Dane Harper also seeing red after an altercation with Holbeach boss Glen Maddison.

Until the sendings off, Town had pretty much matched their in-form opponents in a niggly affair littered with free-kicks.

Even after Tom Waumsley gave Holbeach a 68th minute lead, Town came close to equalising when Paul Goodhand fizzed a half volley wide.

But Harper's shove on Maddison in the technical area effectively ended the game as a contest.

Earlier, Josh Ford had limped off injured but his replacement Nick Brown had a lively game.

Jack Smith, on his return to the Poachers, looked solid at the back whil Nathan iely also looked combative in midfield. Msot of the home side's best moments were conjured through Goodhand and Lori Borbely.

Town: Drury, Lambley, Jackson, Wilson, Smith, Pinner, Iley, Goodhand, Ford, Nuttell (Brown), Borbely (Harper)
