Stoppage time winner denies Poachers

PNS 3, Boston Town 2

There was more heartache for the Poachers as a Billy Smith goal deep into injury time snatched an undeserved win for the hosts.

The Poachers had looked the more likely team to score after twice equalising.

Boston trailed in the 12th minute but hit back quickly through Nick Brown.

A disputed penalty put Peterborough Northern Star in front again at the start of the second period but an own goal levelled things at 2-2.

Most of the best chances fell to Town, with Brown, Jordan Nuttell and debutant Liam Tunstall all coming close.

But Smith had the last word as the Poachers' run of poor form and bad luck continued.

However, there was enough to encourage their new management team of Nathan Collins and Andy Liddle that an upturn in fortunes is just around the corner.

Town: Drury, Lambley, Jackson, Wilson, Smith, Iley, Brown, Goodhand, Nuttell, Borbely, Pinner
