Poachers end their losing streak thanks to spectacular effort from new recruit

Wisbech distraught after Kennedy shot

The returning Matt Kennedy scored a screamer as Boston Town finally got back to winning ways.

A tense first half ended goalless but Kennedy put the hosts ahead with a stunning 30-yard volley soon after the interval.

It was the Poachers' first win since the end of September and their first clean sheet in the league all season.

The Poachers' new management team of Nathan Collins and Andy Liddle will be particularly pleased with the impact of their latest newcomer Kennedy, who only signed from Northern Counties East League side Louth Town yesterday.

He had previously scored 21 goals for Boston in two spells between 2008 and 2010, including one of the goals in Town's 2-0 Lincs Senior Trophy Final win at Sincil Bank in April 2009.
