Five-star Boston Town powered their way to the semi-finals of the county cup.

They made light of wild and windy conditions and some heavy downpours to sweep aside United Counties League Divison One opponents Blackstones.

Alex Beck pounced on a mistake to put the hosts 1-0 ahead before Fraser Bayliss doubled the lead after 12 minutes.

Blackstones rallied but Harry Limb made it 3-0 after 34 minutes with a stunning shot.

Beck helped himself to a second seven minutes into the second half to make him Town's outright leading goalscorer this season with eight. Bayliss scored a second and came close to making it a hat-trick with an effort that hit the bar.

The visitors grabbed a consolation but it wasn't enought to deny Gary Edgley's side a place in the semi-finals of the Lincs Senior Trophy.

It was the Poachers' fifth successive victory in a row - the first time they've achieved five wins in a row since 2012-13.

You have to go back to 2007-8 to find the last time they bettered this winning run, when a side featuring Goodhand, bull, Rowan reeled off seven wins on the bounce at the start of the season.

Portas, Warren, Borbely (Michalczyk), Cunliffe, Ford, Shipley, Beeson (Kyle Tate), Bayliss, Limb, Beck (Muirhead), White (Tunstall); subs unused: Watkins, Cartwright
