Boston Town defied blizzard conditions to deservedly register their first win since November.

Star turn was Cameron Johnson, who earned the points with a two-goal salvo after 52 and 68 minutes.

His second was a wordly worthy of winning any game - but this was a strong all-round performance rather than a no one-man show.

It belied the Poachers' recent poor run of form and made a nonsense of claims from some quarters that the players weren't up for the fight under new boss Dennis Greene.

Doncaster Rovers Under 18 players Keegan Townrow and Lewis Scattergood impressed on their debuts while Seth Greeves registered a clean sheet on his return to the side.

Boston Town were the better side in the first half, despite playing into the teeth of a gale.

And once they got their noses in front after the break, sixth-placed Eynesbury never seriously threatened to get back into the match.

It was a highly satisfying way to avenge a 5-0 defeat at Eynesbury earlier this season - and the three points lift the Poachers back up to 16th in the table above Peterborough Northern Star.

Town: Greeves, Tate, Townrow, Ashton, Forth, Ford, Bayliss, Pinner, Johnson, Scattergood, L Maddison; subs used: Field, Turki
