Today should have been the day Boston Town were playing the Lincs Senior Trophy final.
Coronavirus has put paid to that but we wanted to mark the occasion with a nostalgic look back at the county cup competition.
Today's game against Grimsby Borough would have been the Poachers' first cup final for more than a decade. Coincidentally, our last one was exactly 11 years ago to the day.
On 21 April 2009, we beat Winterton Rangers on a memorable evening at Sincil Bank. thanks to goals by Matt Kennedy and Paul Goodhand. The full line-up that night was:

In September 1980, we beat Barton Town 2-1 in the final, with goals from Pete Barker and Mark Cox. The full team was:
John McPherson, Bob Don-Duncan, Doug Atter, Pete Barker, Dennis Beatson, Dave Manning, Mick Daley (Phil Scothorne) David Rhodes, Mark Cox, Martin Johnson, Rob Himsworth
And in October the following year, we beat Stamford 3-1 in the final, with two goals from Martin Johnson and one from Ian Musson. The full team was:
John McPherson, Bob Don-Duncan, Mick Daley, Pete Barker, Doug Atter, Steve Codd, Phil Scothorne, Martin Johnson, Ian Musson, Rob Himsworth, David Rhodes (Nigel Carter)
That made it a hat-trick of wins after we also lifted the cup in 1979.
