Boston Town can hold their heads high despite their FA Cup exit at the hands of higher-grade Leek Town.
They got off to the worst possible start when Travis Portas was caught out rushing from his goal after just four minutes.
But the Poachers responded well and enjoyed good spells of possession throughout the first half.
Stacy Cartwright came closest to an equaliser when his header was cleared off the line.
The hosts were caught on the break to trail 2-0 at the interval.
Gary Edgley sent on sub Alex Beck, whose trickery cause Leek problems in the second period - but a third goal after 55 minutes effectively killed the tie as a contest.
The Poachers boss also threw centre half Dan Moulds up front to try to unsettle the visiting backline, but the Northern Premier League side's quality showed in the end as they snatched a fourth at the death.
