Edgley's sympathy Edgley's sympathy

Gary Edgley says he feels sorry for United Counties League teams who've been denied the chance of promotion.

The FA's decision to end the season early for all leagues from Step 3 to Step 6 has infuriated dozens of clubs.

Edgley told the Boston Standard said: "It's frustrating but I feel sorry for the sides that were up there at the top of our division and the teams who had spent big as well, who spent a lot of money trying to get promoted, not just in our league.

"But there have been teams who have been up there all season and they deserve some recognition, the likes of Rugby, Quorn and Shepshed."

The Poachers have been told their Lincs Senior Trophy final has been scrapped - although Edgley suggests his side could play Grimsby Borough in pre-season.
