Poachers lose at Newport Pagnell
Boston Town's mini-revival came to an abrupt end in one of their toughest fixtures of the season.
Their long trek to Buckinghamshire was made even more daunting by having seven players missing.
But Gary Edgely's young side put up a spirited display and the game remained scoreless until just before the interval.
Two more goals soon after the break seemed to seal the the points for Newport Pagnell - but Dom Goddard notched his second goal for the club to give the visitors a glimmer of hope.
The hosts, though, made it 4-1 late on.
Edgley praised his side for their effort but said they were fighting an uphill battle.
"Not a good day at the office for Boston Town but travelling two hours away with seven first choice players missing against a decent UCL team is asking a lot of the lads that did play today," he said.
"They battled to the end but we just didn’t have enough quality to compete."
