Pitch preparation underway at the DWB Stadium
Hard-working volunteers have been helping to transform the pitch at the DWB Stadium.
Boston Town were awarded a grant from the Football Foundation's pitch improvement fund.
The money has gone towards a state-of-the-art SISIS Quadraplay machine, as recommended by groundsmen at Premier League clubs incuding West Ham and Spurs.
The Poachers are hugely grateful to the band of volunteers who helped to spread 80 tons of topsoil as well as helping with teh tasks of weeding, spraying and levelling.
The club would also like to thank Mark Willerton at the Russell Group, who supplied the SISIS Quadraplay.
The new multi-purpose machinery features grooming rakes, rollers, brushes, spikers and slitters which allow for the pitch to be maintained in good condition even in the winter when the grass isn't growing.
Chairman Mick Vines and director Lori Borbely have put ina real shift and they're delighted with the results so far.
It should mean fewer games being psotponed because of poor weather when football finally resumes.
