Poachers win on penalties
Boston Town's teenage heroes snatched a sensational Kitman United Counties League KO Cup victory.
Having secured their first victory of the season at the weekend, there were uproarious celebrations as the Poachers beat Peterborough Northern Star on penalties.
They were unlucky to fall behind on the stroke of half-time.
Robert Raducan came close to levelling when his effort went just over the bar - and then the hosts were reduced to ten men when Kieran Blanchard was sent off after 69 minutes.
But it looked as if the Poachers would be bowing out of the competition at the first hurdle - until substitute Harrison Holland pounced in the fifth minute of injury time.
That sent the tie into a shootout - and after seven successful penalties, it was Boston Town keeper Seth Greeves who clinched victory with a superb save from Lukas Gereltauskas.
Andy Parish, Robert Raducan, Jordan Tate and Mido Turki had all converted their spot-kicks and that left Holland to step up and seal a place in the second round.
It was no more than Gary Edgley's battling youngsters deserved after showing wonderful spirit despite the club's recent turmoils.
