Points per game

Points per game Points per game

There's been a lot of talk about points per game (PPG) settling some leagues again this season.

That was how several tables were decided last year when the pandemic first took hold.

We thought it would be interesting to look at how PPG might pan out in the United Counties League - but over the last two seasons rather than just 2020-21.

If you combine the two campaigns, you end up with more or less one single season, albeit with clubs having played slightly more or less than the regular 38 fixtures.

In retrospect, it might have made more sense to start again last September with a resumption of 2019-20 then we would have at least been able to finish one complete season.

Here's how that combined season would look, with Shepshed champions on PPG and Boston Town finishing in 13th but close to the top half.
