Up for the Cup!

Up for the Cup! Up for the Cup!

Everything is set for a big afternoon of FA Cup excitement on Saturday!

Boston Town will need a big effort on the pitch to conjur an upset against high-flying Leek Town.

The visitors will be firm favourites as they play in a higher league and have been in a rich vein of form so far this season.

But the Poachers have pulled off some superb FA Cup wins against the odds in the last couple of years.

The likes of Jordan Tate, Richard Ford, Ollie Pinner and Fraser Bayliss were in squad who achived giantkilling victories against Carlton, Dereham and Hednesford two years ago - and current manager Gary Edgley was a key part of Gary Frost's management team who oversaw those successes.

Boston have had two disappointing defeats in their last two outings - but they know they can give Leek a scare if they play to their true form.

In 2017 they went into their 3rd Qualifying Round clash against big guns Hyde United on the back of a 5-0 midweek hammering at Eynesbury - but came within a whisker of holding their much-fancied opponents to what would have been a deserved replay.

Good luck also to Boston Town Reserves who are away at Eagle United tomorrow in the Sharman Burgess Sports Cup. Kick-off is 2pm at Boston Grammar School.
