Well done Fordy

Congratulations to Richard Ford on reaching the milestone of 200 games for Boston Town.

He achieved the landmark in yesterday’s 6-1 rout of Selston.

Fordy made his debut in August 2015 when he came on as sub for Terry Fleming in a 4-2 win at the DWB Stadium over Oadby Town.

He soon showed his versatility – scoring the opener in a 5-0 county cup drubbing of Holbeach the following month and then playing as a stand-in goalkeeper against Peterbrough Northern Star a few weeks later.

The powerhouse midfielder joins an elite group of players who’ve played 200 games for the Poachers. Many club legends never reached the landmark, including Carl Smaller, Derrick Nuttell, Bert Linnecor and Steve Shipp.

Of the current squad, Fordy has the second most appearances for the club behind the evergreen Lori Borbely.
