Jez Ashberry’s verdict from the DWB Stadium
Boston Town were forced to battle it out for a hard-fought three points.
Harry Limb gave the home side the lead after 17 minutes, steering home a Lee Beeson corner with his left foot at the far post.
Luke White doubled the advantage on the half hour mark. following a long ball from Ryley Thompson which saw the Poachers break two on two. Limb held off a challenge and slipped it to White, who fired home into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
But Quorn pulled one back before the interval with a penalty, which boss Gary Edgley felt was very soft.
Quorn’s former £2 million man Luke Varney was kept relatively quiet – but the away side pressed for an equaliser late on.
Edgley brought on Rares Demeter and Patrick Kacirek and there was some last-ditch defending towards the end but the hosts held on to register an impressive fifth win in six league games so far this campaign.
