Boston Town reached the 1st Round Proper of the FA Vase for the first time since 2013-14.
It was a second win over rivals Holbeach in quick succession – but the Tigers gave them a much tougher game this time.
A goalless first half saw chances few and far between. But the Poachers broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute with an own goal .
Harry Limb then notched his 13th goal of the season with 11 minutes left, stabbing home after a Lee Beeson.
There was delight too for Travis Portas, who registered his first clean sheet of the season as he closes on a landmark 100th appearance for the club.
The win earns the club £725 in prize money – and Gary Edgley’s side will hope for a plum tie in Monday’s draw. The next round is scheduled to be played on Saturday 23 October.
Holbeach (H): Portas, Borbely, Thompson, Ford, Tate, Dilley, Beeson, T White (Millar), Smith, Limb (Kacirek), L White (Demeter)
