Our road to Wembley in the FA Vase starts this afternoon with an away tie at United Counties League Division 1 side Radford.
The Poachers have happy memories of their last visit to Radford – in an FA Cup replay in 2017.
Goals from Aaron Eyett and Jordan Nuttell saw Town held at home in the Extra Preliminary Round.
The same scoreline after extra time in the away replay, with goals from Ben Davison and Danny Maddison, sent the game to penalties.
Maddison scored again in the shoot-out, with Jordan Tate, Bailey Forth and Will Britton also converting. Ollie Pinner failed from the spot but Radford had two unsuccessful attempts – including one fine save by James Lambley – which saw the visitors go through 4-3.
That set them on their way to a famous series of cup upsets which saw them dump THREE higher-grade teams out of the competition – Calrton, Hednesford and Dereham.
