Radford 0, Poachers 0 (3-1 on pens)

Boston Town bowed out of the FA Vase on a crazy afternoon.

They had a real off-day with spot-kicks to allow UCL Division 1 high-flyers Radford to progress to the next round.

The visitors had a chance to win the tie when they were awarded a penalty after 77 minutes but Hadlee Dunn saved Harry Limb’s effort.

The game was goalless after 90 minutes – and Dunn was the hero again in the shootout, saving twice more, while another Boston effort smacked against the bar.

Travis Portas also saved two Radford penalties to keep Town alive – but Jevin Seaton converted his effort to seal a place in the next round.

Earlier, there was double drama.

First, Radford switched to a blue kit after 5 minutes because there was deemed to be too much of a clash between their usual claret and the Poachers’ red away shirts.

And then in the second half, a replacement official had to be found when one of the assistant referees couldn’t continue – leading to added time of almost quarter of an hour.

Town: Portas, Dilley, Wilson, Mucklin (Beeson), Ford, Maddison, Bayliss (Waddington), J Tate, Limb, Young (J Nuttell), Adams; subs unused: Borbely, L Tate
