The Poachers made it four unbeaten on Saturday with a dominant display in a 2-1 win against Wisbech.
Back in August, Boston Town took all 3 points at Wisbech in a 2-0 victory. Going into this one, the Poachers sat in 6th place and the visitors were 14th. Boston started the game on the front foot with Lee Beeson shooting early on but his effort was no bother for Pearson in goal for Wisbech. It only took 8 minutes for the first goal and it went Boston’s way as Harry Limb played through Jordan Nuttell who tucked the ball past the keeper to put the hosts in front and got a goal against his former club.
Wisbech didn’t threaten a lot throughout the whole game with their only chance of the first half hitting the side netting. Boston continued to pile on the pressure as they looked for a second. Fraser Bayliss and Jordan Tate were flagged offside in quick succession and Jason Field made a crunching but brilliant challenge to deny a Wisbech attack.
In the second half, Liam Adams put the hosts 2-0 up five minutes after the break as he calmly placed the ball into the net from the right flank. The game did quiet down in tempo after with the only other chance coming from Ford whose header was tipped onto the cross bar.

Lewis Macrae and Ilie Pirvu both came on and made their Poachers’ debuts and in the 87th minute, Wisbech got a consolation through George Zuerner headed past Travis Portas in the Boston net. However, it didn’t change the game as Boston Town hung on for the 3 points as they completed the double over Wisbech Town and won 2-1.
