2022 Review: Farewell of the Year

Our end of year review continues – for the first time the Boston Town website is giving out some Online Awards! Today it’s the turn of Farewell of the Year. Watch out for more in the coming days as we look back at 2022…

In April we said our fond goodbyes to the managerial team who had been in charge since August 2018 – Gary Edgley and John Barker.

Having taken over with the team struggling in the wake of Dennis Greene’s brief reign, the pair steered the club to a long-overdue period of stability.

Edgley ended up with a record of 135 games as manager, the 4th most in the club’s history – only Bob Don-Duncan, Bill Brindley and Bill Curry were in charge for more.

During Edgley’s time as manager, the Poachers enjoyed their best league finish for 11 years, reached a cup final for the first time in 11 years and won their highest ever pot of FA Cup prize money.
