Poachers 0, Anstey Nomads 0

Martyn Bunce was pleased with the way Boston Town battled their way to a draw against Northern Premier League side Anstey Nomads.

His team were up against it when Jason Field was sent off soon after half-time after receiving a second yellow card.

Bunce told Lincolnshire Non-League Radio he felt the Poachers could have snatched it at the death.

“The character of the lads with 10 men showed what sort of we’ve got down here,” he said.

For the second year in a row in the FA Cup, the Poachers showed themselves to be more than a match for higher-ranked opponents.

Last season they also held Harborough Town to a goalless draw but went down 3-0 in the replay

Boston will be hoping to go one better when they make the difficult trip to Anstey on Tuesday night.
