5 star Poachers

Boston Town U18s made it 5 wins out of 5 since Christmas after hammering Birchwood Colts 5-1.

They got off to a very strong start against a strong Birchwood team who are fighting for the league.

The first goal came in the fist 10 seconds of the game, Charlie Rigby slotting home what surely must have been the fastest goal in the league this season.

A bullet header by captain Lucas Chester from a perfect Pat Bad corner made it 2-0. At half-time it was 2-1 and at that stage the game could have gone either way.

But after the interval, the young Poachers powered to victory.

The 3rd goal came from a right side cross which was met by a looping header from Dom Chew.

Super sub left back Tony Sequiera cut in from the left on his right foot and finished nicely in the far corner to make it 4-1. He doubled his tally to round off the scoring as he cut in from the left beating his man to slide a finish past the Birchwood keeper.

Man of the match was Jack Ratters who put in a controlled performance.

Both teams gave a great account of themselves – good luck to Birchwood for the rest of the season.
