Poachers on film

With the 60th anniversary of Boston Town, Lincolnshire Non League Radio’s and Sports Journalism student Tom Carter is producing a feature length documentary to coincide with the celebrations.

‘To Be A Poacher The Documentary’. based on the two books by Simon Ashberry, will tell the story of the Poachers from the beginning to the present day whilst following the club at certain points during the 2024/25 season.

It is hoped players and staff past and present will feature in this special film with Tom currently in contact with many people from the club’s 60-year history. You can expect announcements throughout the season on who these will be.

Tom said: “One of the big aims of this documentary is not only to focus on the history and current season of the club but to all show why the family feel off the pitch is just as important and show the real positive impacts of non-league football. This is very much an ambitious idea but in the end, it will have the potential to be really special and show what the club is about.”

“I will be away at University for large chunks of the year and will appreciate any footage caught by supporters during the season.”

If any fans want to feature in the documentary with any stories to tell or explain what the club means to you, email Tom at carterthomas585@gmail.com or contact him via X/Twitter @TomCarter04. This will be offered on a first come-first served basis.

The aim is to have the documentary released by late June 2025, just before the start of the 25/26 pre-season campaign and all being well launch it with a premiere event at the club.
