Message from Bunny

Here’s a farewell message from Martyn Bunce following the announcement of his decision to step down as Boston Town manager and retire from football.

I would just like to thank everyone who has taken the time to send me so many wonderful messages. I have been overwhelmed with the response to the club announcement regarding my decision to retire from football.

Firstly I would like to say the decision is totally mine and I appreciate its not the best of timing so early on in the season, with so much to look forward to, but it’s a decision I have been wrestling with over the last 2 months. Over the last 30 years my family and friends have supported me in everything I have done and it’s long overdue I give some time back to them, my wife, daughter and two sons have been unbelievable in accepting the time I spend away from home and the events they have had to attend on there own without me…plus now being lucky enough to have two wonderful grandchildren I feel it’s time to step away and enjoy something different. Like I said earlier in the message I have been overwhelmed with the responses from ex players, manager’s, coaches and even enemies from other clubs I have played with or against over the last 30 years it means so much.

Finally I would like to thank everyone at Boston Town who have been so understanding with my decision and always supported me on everything whilst being with the club. Mr Vines, the board of directors, Lori, Chappy, Jake, Goody and Terry are all great people and I wish them all the very best moving forward.

A special thank you to all the supporters, volunteers and obviously the players, without you the last couple of years wouldn’t have been some of the best I have enjoyed in football.

I wish everyone one of you all the best for the future and look forward to bumping into you sometime but in the clubhouse and not in the dug out.

Thanks again

Bunny
