Boston United 2, Boston Town 7

Our ladies painted Boston blue after earning a memorable derby day triumph.

Marisha Newton scored a hat-trick as they registered a thumping 7-2 win against Boston United Ladies at the Jakemans Community Stadium.

The result meant Boston Town Ladies stretched their lead at the top of the Lincs Women & Girls’ League Open Age South to six points.

Two early goals by Newton and Lexi Cox settled any nerves for the Poachers before the hosts pulled one back before half-time.

Chelsea Milne restored the two-goal cushion soon after the restart and the visitors eased to a comfortable victory after that.

Boston Town Ladies would like to say a big thank you to Boston United for being great hosts.

Goal scorers were:

The award was sponsored by Spar Priory Road.

A very special mention to Boston Colts FC girls and their manager for joining us for a little meet and greet.

They got themselves involved in a short warm-up, followed with a chat to find out what their positions were on the field when they play. They were then introduced to the Town Ladies playing in their position, so they knew who to watch out for during the game.

Thank you for your support and we hope that ladies football continues to inspire you all.
