U15s win dramatic QF

Boston Town U15s 7
Horncastle U15s 5 (aet)

Our U15s are into the league cup semi finals after a thrilling tie with Horncastle this morning.

Despite a strong start to the game, it was Horncastle ahead at the break, 2-1.

The second half saw five goals in total with Horncastle going 3-1 up and Boston battling back to 3-3.

The final minutes of the match were dramatic to say the least as Horncastle thought they had won it after finishing a smart counter-attack with two minutes remaining.

But this Boston side never know when they’re beaten and Josh Dickinson made it 4-4 with almost the last kick of the game.

Into extra time and Boston were on top. The pressure paid off with one of the goals of the season: a leaping overhead kick from Szymon nestling into the side netting.

Two minutes later and Josh flicked the ball over one defender before tucking a volley into the net for 6-4.

A late thunderbolt from Isaac Lovelace sealed the win and Town’s spot in the semis.
