Jimmy Bullard – April Fool

For those who believed Jimmy Bullard was on his way – why would we ever replace a legend like Lori Borbely?! Hope you enjoyed this year’s April Fool joke. Here’s the spoof story in full:

Boston Town is delighted to announce the appointment of former Premier League midfielder and football personality Jimmy Bullard as our new Assistant Manager, effective immediately.

The ex-Wigan Athletic, Fulham, and Hull City star will bring his vast experience, infectious enthusiasm, and tactical expertise to the Mortgages For You Stadium as we push for a strong finish to the season.

Speaking on his appointment, Bullard said:
“I’ve always had a soft spot for non-league football, and when the opportunity arose to join a club with as much ambition and passion as Boston Town, it was a no-brainer. I’m buzzing to get started and can’t wait to work with the gaffer and the lads!”

Manager Chris Funnell added:
“Bringing Jimmy in is a massive statement for the club. His knowledge of the game, combined with his energy and personality, will be a huge asset in the dressing room and on the training ground. The boys are in for a treat!”

Club officials are already working on plans to integrate Bullard into the coaching setup, with his first game in the dugout expected to be vs Kimberley Miners this Saturday. Fans can expect to see his trademark enthusiasm on the touchline very soon.

Welcome to Boston Town, Jimmy!
