Our stunning 7-2 win against Wisbech Town wasn’t quite record-breaking – but it did send club historian Simon Ashberry scurrying for his statistics.
Here’s what he found:
- Last time Boston Town scored seven was a 7-1 win against Grantham Town Academy in the UCL KO Cup in September 2022
- Last time Boston Town scored seven in the league was a 7-0 win at Pinchbeck in September 2020

- Last time Boston Town scored seven at home in the league was a 7-1 win against Ford Sports Daventry in September 2006
- It’s only the second time Boston Town have been involved in a 7-2 scoreline in their 61-year history – the other occasion was a win against Potton in the UCL in August 1997
- Only 13 times have Boston Town ever been involved in a game with more than nine goals overall – including our record 12-1 win against Clay Cross in 1966 and two 5-5 draws against Fakenham in 1993 and Desborough in 2005
- This was Fraser Bayliss’s third hat-trick for the club – only four players have scored more for Boston Town (one of whom is Harry Limb)
- It’s the first hat-trick for Boston Town since Limb scored four in February in a 5-0 win against…Wisbech Town again!
- The last seven Boston Town hat-tricks have all been scored by either Bayliss or Limb – the last one scored by anyone other than those two was Tom Garrick, who scored three times against Sleaford Town in September 2020
