Travis Portas has become the first goalkeeper for more than 40 years to reach 250 appearances for the club.

The last custodian to do so was John McPherson, who passed the milestone in 1981.
He didn’t miss a single game for 6 seasons from 1976 to 1982 as he racked up a remarkable run of 294 successive appearances for the club, then known as Boston FC.

“Johnny Mac” returned for a brief spell in 1984-85 to finish with 302 appearances.
Portas made his debut for the Poachers in October 2018 and hasn’t looked back since. This is now his 8th season at the club, a record for a keeper.
