Boston Town stretched their lead at the top of the United Counties League Premier North table to four points with this narrow victory.
Almost inevitably, it was Matt Cotton who was the matchwinner yet again, scoring the only goal with a header just before the interval.
With promotion rivals Sherwood Colliery and Grantham Town both in the FA Vase, the Poachers knew this was a chance to move further ahead at the top – and they made the most of it.

In fact, it turned out to be a great afternoon for Chris Funnell’s side as Newark Town and Kimberley MW both lost and Belper United’s game was postponed. No other team in the top half won.
Town handed a debut to the experienced defender Richard Jones, who has signed from Bourne Town on dual registration. He has previously played for the likes of Corby, Stamford and Peterborough Sports and been a regular in National League North.
Next Saturday (13 December), the Poachers are at home to Deeping Rangers. Kick-off will be 3pm for their final game of 2025 at the Mortgages For You Stadium.
Following the game, supporters are invited to stay on for the Christmas raffle draw and the December 100 Club draw.
