Skegness 0, Poachers 0

Boston Town completed an unbeaten December thanks to their fifth clean sheet in a row.

Chris Funnell’s side also went through November without losing, bringing their sequence of games since they were last defeated to 11.

It was a second successive goalless derby draw – following last week’s stalemate at Grantham – but the Poachers remain top of the United Counties League Premier North table at the end of the year. Sherwood Colliery missed the chance to leapfrog them into top spot after they were held 2-2 at home by AFC Mansfield.

In front of another bumper festive crowd of 355, Pierce Hudson was given a first start in nearly two month in place of the suspended Kallum Smith.

Both sides battled throughout but clear chances were at a premium and neither could find a breakthrough.

Next up for Boston Town is another away trip, this time to Clay Cross on Saturday 3 January (kick-off 3pm). Then they have four home games in a row at the Mortgages For You Stadium.

Town: Portas, Burdass (Munton), Hudson (Gibbons), Tate, Ford, Wilson, Bayliss (Zaluzinskis), Maddison, Priestley (Gurney), Limb, Cotton
