It’s one of our biggest games of the season at the weekend!
The Poachers are at home to United Counties League Premier North leaders Sherwood Colliery on Saturday (28 February).
Kick-off at the Mortgages For You Stadium in Tattershall Road will be 3pm.
With Boston United not playing that day, we’re hoping for a big crowd to cheer on the lads.
It’s a clash between first and second, with Boston Town needing a win to close the gap on top spot – but even if they can’t catch Sherwood Colliery, they’re well placed to finish in the play-offs, with eight matches to go.

In his post-match interview following the 1-0 win against Newark & Sherwood, manager Chris Funnell told Charlie Fytche: “We have to go game by game. Next game is a big game to ensure that we secure our place in the league table, it’s as simple as that really.
“We’re very good at home, we’ve now got four left at home, four away, so we need to make the most of our home games to try and put some more points on the board.”
Funnell said it would be a tough test against the league leaders.
“We’ve played Sherwood twice now and they are without a shadow of a doubt the best footballing team in this league,” he said.
“A very very good team, very good coaches and Sav’s (Sherwood manager Wayne Savage) a great bloke as well in terms of his management.”
The Poachers won 2-1 at Sherwood Colliery in the league cup in September but lost there 2-1 in the league last month.
Funnell will still be without Jordan Tate, who has one more game of his suspension to serve.
Poachers fans are also keenly awaiting the return to fitness of Layton Maddison and Macca Burdass, but Dan Worthington is a long-term absentee as he awaits surgery for his ACL injury.
Funnell has been able to bolster his squad with the return of the versatile Harvey Graves and the signing of Finley Ging. The 20-year-old defender impressed on his debut after joining on loan from Boston United.
The February 100 Club draw will take place in the clubhouse after Saturday’s game.
