Richard Ford has been hailed as Boston Town’s Captain Fantastic after he clocked up 400 appearances for the club.
Since making his debut under Mark Angel in August 2015, he’s been a rock at the heart of the Poachers’ defence.
To put things into context, only four other players have ever reached the 400 milestone for the club: Lee Rippin, Lori Borbely, Matt Price and Ross Don-Duncan.

Manager Chris Funnell was full of praise for his skipper.
Speaking to Charlie Fytche after the Poachers’ 3-0 victory at Melton Town earlier this month, he said: “He’s Mr Boston Town, isn’t he? He leads the lads by example.
“I don’t have enough words to describe how good a person he is – forget the football, how good a person he is. His values, his morals, everything about him is absolutely amazing and that comes out in droves in his on the pitch performances, the way he drives the lads forwards, how much he cares.
“I’m sure he’s got another couple of hundred left in him. Congratulations to him.”
Club historian Simon Ashberry added: “Fordy really has been our Captain Fantastic. Huge credit must go to him for the example he has set even in times when the team were struggling in the league,
“Being a central defender at this level is a physically demaning job – just look at how often he’s ended games bandaged up – so it’s no surprise that he’s the first player specialising in that position to have ever reached 400 games for the club.”
