Best wishes to young Jack Waddington, who broke his fibula in a feisty first friendly.
He was stretchered off late on as an inexperienced Poachers side were edged out 1-0 by Huntingdon.
In their first fixture since Christmas, Gary Edgley's team featured several young players who have been taking part in pre-season training.
With numerous first team players missing, the manager said it was a good run out.
Huntingdon are much further ahead with their pre-season preparations, having opted to play in the United Counties League supplementary cup in April and May.
A first half goal settled the game but it was after the break that tempers boiled over on warm afternoon.
Huntingdon had a man sent off and were briefly down to 9 men. Edgley was upset by some of the physical treatment being dished out and there was a lengthy stoppage when the home manager Wilkins Makate came onto the pitch to intervene.
