Ahead of Saturday’s presentation evening, here’s a look back at some of the achievements of the 2021-22 season.
Although we the Poachers dipped in the end to 9th position in the United Counties League Premier Division North, that’s still our best league finish for 11 years – when we came 7th in 2010-11.
Frustratingly, we were just three points behind Deeping Rangers in 5th.
Here’s our playing record – it was also the first time since 201-11 that we won more league games than we lost.
We had a better record at the Mortgages For You Stadium compared to away from home – although strangely our away games were generally more high-scoring:
Congratulations to Ryley Thompson on being an ever-present – starting every one of the 40 games played by Boston Town in all competitions.
That’s quite an achievement – the first time it’s been done by a Boston Town players since Nathan Stainfield in 2010-11. In fact, Ryley has started every single game since he made his debut for the Poachers in September 2020 – 54 in a row.
Other milestones this season also include 25 goals for Harry Limb – the first time a Boston Town player has reached that landmark since Paul Goodhand and Gary Bull both did it as long ago as 2008-9.
