Boston Town are delighted to announce Chris Chapman as the club’s new groundsman.
He has already been working hard at the Mortgages For You Stadium.
Chris was manager of Kirton Town for the last two years – but also took it upon himself to maintain the pitch at Graves Park.
“Ultimately, I was getting more enjoyment from that,” said Chris.
“Managing isn’t for everyone. When Bunny (Martyn Bunce) contacted me to do the ground keeping at Boston Town, I thought it was an opportunity not to pass on.
“He’s a great guy and it’s quite a privilege to be asked!”

Chris has already made a massive difference to the state of the pitch, which is looking in great condition ahead of this week’s Willoughby Cup Final.
“I believe the club has and is getting a good set-up and good feel around it,” said Chris.
“So hopefully I can help and add to it with the pitch.”
Work to be carried out on the pitch includes:
- Verti drain
- Top dress
- Re-seed
- Maintenance work to goalmouths
- Brushing, cutting and feed
Other jobs off the pitch include installing a ball retainer behind the goal at the clubhouse end and artificial grass to dug out areas.
The Willoughby Cup Final between Wyberton Reserves and Pointon kicks off at 7pm on Thursday 5 May.
